Event Details:
The 2015 eighth annual Stanford University Basin and Petroleum System Modeling Industrial Affiliates Conference took place on Tuesday through Thursday, November 3-5, 2015, at Stanford University. On Wednesday we traveled to the deep-marine Salinas Basin near Monterey, CA, where the diverse oil fields served as illustration of an entire petroleum system at work. It culminated with a visit to the giant San Ardo field and the newly developed Lynch Canyon field. We opened the conference with an evening icebreaker/cocktail hour on Tuesday evening. At Thursday's oral session, Stanford graduate students presented talks on their basin and petroleum system modeling research. The meetings concluded on Thursday with a group dinner at Il Fornaio restaurant in downtown Palo Alto.
