The BPSM curriculum consists of 8 core courses, selected to provide a broad cross-sectional view of the elements of basin and petroleum system modeling. Students will complete the balance of required total units from the list of elective courses. Other courses may be substituted in consultation with the faculty advisor. Some prerequisite undergraduate courses may be necessary for some students.

The BPSM research group invites applications for Ph.D./M.S. research assistantships in the Earth & Planetary Sciences at the doctoral or masters' or degree level. If you decide to apply, you should elaborate on your interests in basin and petroleum system modeling in your statement of interest and indicate with which professor(s) you would like to work. Students will have access to all researchers associated with BPSM, but you must specify one of the BPSM directors (i.e., Stanford faculty) in your application.
