The role of tectonics in the evolution of petroleum systems in the sedimentary basins - BPSM Group
Main content start
Salinas basin, California. Basin model integrates strike slip tectonics on the basin scale, tectonics on the outcrop and seismic scales (structural overburden and interpreted horizons), and micro scale alterations in silica crystallography during burial, a valuable indicator of subsurface temperature and clay content.
Menotti, T., A. Hosford Scheirer, K. Meisling, and S. A. Graham, 2019, Integrating strike-slip tectonism with three-dimensional basin and petroleum system analysis of the Salinas Basin, California: AAPG Bulletin, v. 103, p. 1443-1472.
