Ignited by her petroleum geology studies while earning her Bachelor of Science in Geology at the University of Texas at Austin, Laura’s current Ph.D. research interests at Stanford University lie in integrative 4D basin and petroleum systems modeling (BPSM) of conventional and unconventional plays. Through BPSM she integrates geology, geophysics, geochemistry, engineering, geostatistics, rock physics and more to predict the generation, migration, and accumulation of fossil fuels. That prediction is accomplished by forward simulating the 3D sedimentary basin model through time. Broadly, she is committed to being a leading interdisciplinary geologist impacting the academic and industrial sectors while fostering fruitful partnerships with local and global communities.
