The 12th Annual BPSM Meeting was held November 11-13, 2019 at Stanford University and was a great success! Attendance included 28 industry leaders, including 18 from our 11 affiliates, 14 Stanford students and 8 Stanford faculty and scientists.

Monday night featured an icebreaker held at Vina Enoteca in the historic Stanford Barn. On Tuesday, Stanford graduate students presented talks on their basin and petroleum system modeling research, with a group dinner held afterwards at Terrain Cafe

Presentations ranged from topics  discussing  pore pressure, faults, uncertainty and sensitivity analysis in gas hydrate petroleum systems, modeling carbonates in petroleum systems, basin modeling and geochemistry. Four posters showcased research.

The meeting concluded on Wednesday with an all-day field trip to the impressive Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve in Antioch, California, the site of both coal and sand mining operations in the 19th and 20th centuries.
