The conference opened on Tuesday evening, November 1, with an icebreaker event at the Stanford Golf Course. The Oral Session took place at Stanford's beautiful, 1200-acre natural area, the Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve, on Wednesday, Nov. 2. The following day featured a field trip to the Santa Cruz-San Mateo County coastal petroleum systems.
