The seventh annual Stanford University Basin and Petroleum System Modeling Industrial Affiliates Conference was held on Tuesday through Thursday, November 11-13, 2014. The meeting took place at Stanford University in the Tresidder Memorial Union, Oak conference room. Tuesday night featured an icebreaker held at the hillside Stanford University Golf Course Cafe and sponsored by Schlumberger. On Wednesday, Stanford graduate students presented talks on their basin and petroleum system modeling research, with a group dinner afterwards. The meetings concluded with an all-day field trip to the impressive Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve in Antioch, CA, the site of both coal and sand mining operations in the 19th and 20th centuries.
